HEART OF SCARS is name the Cheyenne spirits have given Sylvester Logan James. Now twenty years into his feud with "The Beast," Sylvester has become less the man he wanted to be and more like the monsters he hates.
His fight to redeem his soul seems to be in vain, and is derailed as he's forced to contend with the likes of Peter Stubbe, an ancient and historical werewolf who dogs his every step. Sylvester has also become possessed by the cannibalistic spirit Windigo, driving him to a newfound fear of damnation and despair. He is haunted by nightmares and guilt and immersed in a world of secret cartels, but he finds himself incapable of surrendering to an easy death. As he's forced by his own will to fight on, he makes allies with his personal demons.
The tagline for the book was: "No devil is as wicked as the soul of man."
